Which Hats are Guaranteed for Life?

You can check if a hat is Guaranteed for Life on the website by spotting the "Guaranteed" badge and on the tag that comes with your Tilley hat.

I bought a Guaranteed for Life Hat. What are the next steps?

In order to access this guarantee, you will need to register your hat with us within 60 days of the purchase date. Simply follow the registration steps listed on "How do I register my hat?".

How do I Register my hat?

Gather the following information to register your hat:

  • The style, colour, and size of your Guaranteed for Life hat. If you’re not sure of your hat’s details, look on the hat hang tag or on the inside label.
  • The name of the store you purchased your hat, the date of the purchase, and the transaction / reference number on the receipt. 
  • If you purchased from Tilley.com, you will need your order number.
  • If you don’t have one already, create an account on Tilley.com
  • Once logged into your account, click on Register in the account dashboard.
  • Fill in the registration form and submit.
  • You will receive an on-screen message confirming your registration.

Is My Hat Eligible for a claim?

Your Tilley hat should be treasured. We are so confident in our craftsmanship that some of our hats are Guaranteed for Life against normal wear and tear, poor workmanship, or faulty material. If your hat is Guaranteed for Life, we will repair or replace it free of charge. 

Terms apply. This special guarantee does not cover misuse and improper care, staining, fading, grommet patina, shrinking, or frayed windcords. 

Terms & Conditions

Only hats with the designated “Guaranteed for Life” label will be considered for replacement. Customers must provide photos to identify the eligibility of the item, as well as proof of destruction of the item upon request once approval is granted. All qualifying replacements are subject to a non-waivable handling fee.

Note: Tilley Endurables only accepts Guaranteed for Life requests through Tilley.com. Any requests submitted outside of the electronic portal will not be accepted. Should you have any questions, please contact the Tilley Customer Service Department by email. 

Packages sent without prior authorization will be refused and returned to sender at the shipper’s cost. Processing times may vary due to increased volumes in peak seasons and are contingent on the provision of all required information from the customer. Requests will not be shipped until all requirements are met by the customer. Tilley will not be held responsible or liable for any lost or stolen packages in transit. Please contact your carrier to settle any shipping issues.

Tilley reserves the right to determine if an item qualifies for replacement under the Guaranteed for Life policy.
