What is the Tilley hat guarantee?

If your Lifetime Guarantee Tilley hat wears out due to:
  • normal wear & tear
  • poor workmanship
  • faulty material
we'll repair or replace your hat.

Tilley Endurables customer service department reserves the right to determine what constitutes normal wear & tear, poor workmanship, faulty material, misuse and/or improper care.

How do I know if my hat is a Lifetime Guarantee hat?

If you are unsure if your hat is guaranteed for life, check the inside woven label in the crown of your hat. It will say on the label if it’s guaranteed or not. Not all Tilley headwear is guaranteed for life. If you are still unsure, please feel free to contact us to inquire about the guarantee.

How do I register my Tilley hat?

All Tilley hats with a lifetime guarantee warranty must be registered within 90 days of purchase for the guarantee to be activated. Click here to learn how to register your Tilley hat.

My Tilley hat is worn out, what do I do now?

First, assess your hat. If the reason for your return is due to normal wear and tear, faulty material or poor workmanship, please Click here to fill out a Hat Guarantee Claim Form. You will need to print it out & include it with your return.

If your hat shows damage from improper care or abuse (mold or mildew included), it will not be repaired or replaced. Colour fading, stains, grommet patina, frayed wind cords are all signs of a well-worn and well-loved hat and do not signal a defective hat. If you think your hat has experienced shrinkage, you can stretch it back by placing it over your knee and giving a good pull.

Next, prep your hat for return. Please remove all personal items from the security pocket & wash your hat prior to sending it back to us. Once your hat is completely dry, pack it carefully & mail it to us with the completed claim form. Unwashed items will be returned to sender.

Please note: Worn out Tilley Hats returned for replacement will not be returned with your new one. We encourage you to take some time to appreciate all the memories you've made together & then get ready for new memories with your new Tilley.
Shipping Policy:
We offer Free Expedited Shipping on all online orders over $150, after discounts & before taxes. Parcels are shipped Monday - Friday excluding holidays & arrive between 3-5 business days via USPS. Shipping charges for orders below $150 are $9.50 for priority shipping. Next day shipping is available upon request.

Exchanges & Returns:
We want you to love your Tilley®. We gladly accept returns of new, unworn, unwashed items with the original hangtags for a full exchange or refund within 90 days of original purchase. All Sale & Special Price Items are final sale.
