Absolutely Outstanding
This hat looks and feels absolutely incredible. In fact, it simply oozes charm and sheer class.
The hemp really makes this hat and it one of those natural materials that will simply better with age. It’s already rustic looking with a tinge of elegance straight out the bag!
The inner pocket makes for a sensible storage place for cash or travel tickets, the strings are good if the wind gets up but can also be stowed inside when not in use. Foam pocket liner will ensure it floats so that’s another great reason!
What I must emphasise is the importance of getting your sizing right. Use the video and guidance on this website to help you.
If buying in the U.K. be mindful that the Tilley (Canada) sizing is different to ours.
In support of this I usually take a 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 depending on type and style of hat. I had to go to a 7 1/2 in a Tilley and even that was ever so slightly close. However, I’m an experienced hat wearer so used my block and steam and now I have nice loosely fitting Tilley hemp.
I would imagine that a size 7 5/8 would have been ok but might have been oversized all round I.e too high and wide.
So … do I recommend the Tilley Hemp hat?
ABSOLUTELY! In my opinion it’s the best in the range and it looks good with pretty much everything.
