"The photo of us wearing our Tilley hats in the hot sun was taken at "Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park" in Livingstone, Zambia during our "Lion Encounter" afternoon walk with the lions. This opportunity was offered by the African Lion & Research Trust who raise lion cubs and release them into the park when old enough to hunt. Prior to the walk, we were given a detailed briefing on how to safely conduct ourselves. While in the park we were accompanied by a guide and were each armed with a stick. The lions ran and walked freely with us. Two men with rifles scouted the park ahead of us as there were other free roaming wild animals present. A DVD record of our encounter was taken by a camera man accompanying the guide. We had about 90 minutes with the lions and watched them drink from the Zambezi River, frolic and climb trees. It was a privilege to experience the opportunity that we will cherish and a photographer's dream. "
