Brilliant and Smart
I needed a good winter hat but suspected that the tuck-away flaps would prove to be a gimmick. Then we had a blast of brutal winter weather and I was surprised by how perfectly everything worked. Fantastic! The hat is warm and comfortable in both modes, stays on even in strong winds and regularly attracts comments on how stylish it looks. It doesn't seem particularly water repellent but has never let me get wet and can be dried with relative ease. It's now done three winters and continues to be a practical and sartorial masterpiece, even if it's starting to sag a bit.

Just what a winter hat should be
Mine is in camel color, evidently no longer made, but it matches my heavy camel hair coat very well. A bit more slouch in the brim than the Fedora, not as much stiffness all the way around, but it looks good when everything is tucked up and away, and it is warm when you need to lower the flaps, and who cares how you look then.

Customer modifications
Ear flaps don't cover ears, forehead warmer seems more of a gimmick than being practical. these take up room stowed away. Problem solved with scissors! Secret pocket just isn't - ads tell where it is! But nice warm hat admired by some thinking I'm going fishing - I ain't and I don't. Cosy in winter though and you can sit on it - take my word for it! Mine could do with a clean now though - looks scruffy and you can't wash it.

Looking good at 11,444 feet!
I first found Tilley hats in 2005 when planning a trip to Thailand. This year I got the TW2 for our trip to Colorado. We took two separate gondola rides to get to the top of the mountain in Keystone for dinner on top of the mountain in the moonlight. The reservation agent warned us to wear full arctic gear, snowboots, shell jackets etc... I did, topped it all off with the TW2 and stayed warm and looked great doing it! (that's according to my wife who's the expert on my appearance).

5 Star Hat
My Grandfather in law sold me on Tilley hats, and I am very grateful for that. I just received this item for Christmas and I couldn't be happier.
At first I thought that the ear warmers and forehead warmers were a bit much and I would never use them. Well I was wrong; although you almost look holy when wearing the ear warmers down, it is nice to have on a chilly winter night.
Plus this hat just looks amazing, I look amazing in this hat and it does indeed repel water.
It keeps your head warm, it’s a very good looking hat and has a lifetime warranty.
This is a winner.

Style and comfort
I've had this hat for about 4 months now and I couldn't be happier with it. I've worn it almost every day since I got it. It's very comfortable and does an excellent job of keeping me warm. And on top of that, it looks very stylish.

Winter warmer
This is a brilliant hat, perfect for our new colder winter weather. I walk a lot and wearing this hat makes winter walking a pleasure.

Good hat
My only problem with this hat is the ear warmers. I find that they are essentially useless. They don't fit snugly enough to prevent wind from freezing the ears. Also, if find that this hat fits tighter than my other Tilley hats.

Great Hat!
I own one of the Herringbone hats and it is truly terrific. It keeps you warm and repels moisture.

Brilliant
Everyone love this hat. I get a lot of comments, before they even know how clever it is with the ear warmers and anti-wind strap. Unfortunately, the moths like it too, or at least I think it is moths, who have eaten a whole load of tracks in the felt.
