Bring back the original!
After wearing an original Tiley for over 20 years I finally needed a replacement. With the original in existence no more I chose a T3. The original was lighter material and I could roll it up and stuff it in my jacket sleeve or pocket or even sit on it at lunch or a meeting. Not so with the T3. It is heavy and stiff does not roll well at all and is not comfortable to sit on. My wife says it looks dorky. I'm afraid I am going to look for a different brand and likely donate this to Goodwill. Bye guys!

A Really Great Hat!
I've owned my T3 for about 15 years and it has exceeded every expectation I had for it. I purchased it in Florida. At first I was a bit taken aback by the price. However, I was on vacation so I decided to treat myself to a little indulgence. I received the first of many compliments on the plane ride home. A gentleman told me, I wish I had MY Tilley! I've worn it on numerous cruises in the Caribbean, on hundreds of miles of kayaking trips and on every ride on my boat every summer. It washes up clean and crisp in my dishwasher and looks brand spanking new. Not a thread or stitch out of whack. After all this time, someone told me just last week how much they loved my hat (and they were not being sarcastic).
I just received my new TH4 in mocha today. I decided I need a wider brim and a darker color for a change of pace. I'm looking forward to breaking it in down in Mexico next month!

Best Hat, Best Service
I've had a T3 since 1995. Its been on many an adventure, & traveller through mountains, across deserts, down canyons & along winding rivers. Its been trekking, mountaineering, rock climbing and on many, many paddles in an open canoe.
It has proven to be brilliant in all situations. It keeps off both sun and rain, and as it fits well, never blows off in wind.
Finally, the hat has worn out, which is sad. However, Tilley's fantastic service means that a new one is on the way to me for no charge. The old hat can go into retirement - maybe I'll mount it on the wall next to my photos!

Have had 2 x T3's to date and lost both!
Well I bought my first T3 back in 1983. I wore that every where like africa and the middle east. My Tillys have been through 29 differtent countries in the Northern Hemesphere and have seen me through some great adventures. That was one of the best hats I had ever owened but I wore the brim out completly and it got stored away where it got moldy and then thrown out. So I went out and found a store in WEM that sold this hat and got me my second T3. I was a happy world traveler once again as I traveled around the northern Hemispher serching for adventure and Oil. And now that I have no hair it has become a vital addition to the wardrobe. Well on the May long weekend I had my tilly in my harley saddle bag when it poped open and I lost that hat some where between Red Deer and Edmonton. And now I am sad again as I need to buy a new one. I still have my back up outback Tilley but it is not the same as the T3.

T3 - one tough hat!
I bought my T3 in 1988. I wear it 7 days a week 12 months a year. Even my friends don't recognize me without it. My T3 has been replaced a few times and I can guarantee you that Tilley stands behind their guarantee 100%. It's a tough hat, but with constant use it is possible to wear one out. Takes years, though.

World Class Hats
I wear my T3 cotton duck Tilley 7 days a week, 240 days a year -- to client visits, to construction sites, etc. The other 125 days get cold enough for my TW2 wool hat -- which is super warm with the ear flap down. I let my first T3 get so dirty I had to retire it. Now I wash more regularly. I bought a vented "airflow" LTM for special occasions. I guess I'm a relative "youngster" with only 20 years as a Tilley man!

Last hat I ever owned
I have been wearing a T3 for over 20 years. I have had it replaced 3 times, and never had a problem. I still get questioned on where I bought it and I still have some of my original "Brag Tags" that I hand out. I do not know why more people do not own these.

Great hat
I've owned 3 T3's over the last 25 or so years, and I really love the hat. Fortunately Tilley lives up to their replacement guarantee, because that's how I was able to replace each hat when it eventually wore out. In each case the problem was that the fabric in the crown slowly deteriorated until the hat essentially fell apart.

Hats off to Tilley
Actually hats on to Tilley for such a wonderful hat. I have had my T3 for around 7 years now without a problem. I take it with me mostly on the water while kayaking. It has been in the water so many times I can't count. I bring it home, rinse in tap water, hang to dry, and its ready to go back out to play. like this hat so much I had to order another. I am waiting for my new LTM8 Mesh AIRFLO to arrive. My only concern is why hasn't anyone submited a review? These hats are wonderful.

A classic
I had a T3 for six years in the 90's, I lost it while working abroad and to this day miss it. The T3 is a classic all rounder and a great place to start any adventure.
